Ben got his start chalkin’ and talkin’ at church camps and youth groups while a college student after his friend and mentor, Bill Leach died in 1992 leaving all of his equipment and contacts to him. Having met Leach at a Fellowship of Christian Athletes camp in Marshall, Indiana as a junior in High School, Ben could have never imagined where God would guide his path. Almost two decades later, Ben continues to travel all over the world sharing his art and the Gospel at conferences, festivals and retreats.

Program Topics

Ben’s Signature presentation – Simply Special

60 minutes (includes drawing and lightshow)

In this presentation, Ben shares his testimony of growing up labeled “special”, how he came to know the Lord and the ways in which this has changed his life. Ben uses comedy and personal anecdotes to take the stigma out of being “different” or “special”. The participants are exhorted to rejoice in the qualities and talents they have that set each of them apart from everyone else and challenged to make the best use of their particular “gifts”.

The participants will be reminded that their inherent value is not found in the things of this world, but in God’s love for them.

Seeking God in the Age of Distraction

60 minutes (includes a Q&A session; drawing optional)

As an individual with AD/HD, Ben is familiar with the struggles that come with living and working with qualities of impulsivity, disorganization, and distractibility. As difficult as it is for most “normal” people to have a “quiet time”, imagine how much more difficult it is for a person with AD/HD. Moreover, many individuals in our society, even those without a diagnosis of AD/HD, display traits associated with this “disorder”; especially teenagers and are not able to have quality time with God as a result.

This presentation is great for adults and teens who struggle with having a quiet moment with God. Ben shares his insights about AD/HD as only he can – simply and with humor. You will certainly not have heard AD/HD presented in this way! Then, he gives practical tips and tools to help the participants to take small, but effective steps towards a more fulfilling and effective time of prayer and reflection.

The Power of Generosity
