Speaking

As far as Ben’s presentation goes – we could not have asked for anything more than what we received. In fact, the entire event exceeded my expectations by quite a distance.

I’ve been a full-time speaker since 1995. I started when I was just a young 20-something kid and now I’m closing in on two decades of speaking. So it’s with some degree of confidence that I can claim to understand how important having the right speaker is to the success of an event. YOUR event.

Below is all kinds of information to you to help you decide if I am a speaker that’s right for your group.

A BIT MORE ABOUT ME

Since 1995, I have spoken with 100s of groups, starting with small church camps and conferences, expanding into schools to work with students and teachers, and also having many occasions to speak with corporate groups.

I dropped out of college as a junior and have never looked back. My ADD made it impossible to stay interested in school, but has been the perfect companion in my career as a performer, creator and educator.

I devote the majority of my time to writing, speaking and creating new programming. I blog for additudemag.com and do my best to stay in touch with my 8,000+ followers on Facebook. I’m still trying to get a handle on Twitter. :-)

I have written five books and am working on my sixth one right now. None have made any bestseller lists, but the feedback is great and my wife tells me that I get better and better with each book.

I’ve been married for almost 16 years and have two young daughters who have recently cured me of my fear of speaking to elementary school children.

In my spare time, I enjoy fishing, boxing, playing with LEGOS and accompanying my wife on whatever crazy adventures she cooks up for us.

MY MOST POPULAR PROGRAMS

I can customize my message to meet your events’ specific needs. Customizing the multi-media portion of the presentation is a bit more complicated & time intensive, but please let my booking coordinator know what you have in mind and she’ll be able to tell you if it’s possible and what, if any additional charges may be involved.

Most of my keynote presentations are designed to be 45-60 minutes long. I also offer 2 hour and half-day workshops on the subject of ADHD/ADD.

 FOR STUDENTS, PARENTS & TEACHERS

From Special Ed to Simply Special: My personal story of how I was diagnosed as Learning Disabled in Third Grade, the trials and triumphs that followed and what I’ve learned about overcoming challenging times, learning to appreciate my unique talents and gift and the people who made a difference in my life along the way. Inspiring and eye-opening. This presentation can be customized in a myriad of ways to suit your group. Topics I can address: anti-bullying, anti-drug, positive attitude,  team work, and leadership.
Understanding the Peaks and Pitfalls of ADD in the Classroom: Ever wonder what goes through an ADDer’s mind? I’m going to tell you all about it! You’ll walk away with a completely different perspective as well as hope that some of the most challenging students in your class can also be your most successful.
The Power of Encouragement: Being a positive influence in another person’s life is one of the greatest things you can do for someone and is an essential skill for any leader. I share seven ways in which you can be an encourager to your staff, students, family or employees.

Tools for Teaching ADD Students Without Losing your Mind: No more boring medical facts and DSM-IV definitions! I only share what’s relevant and practical. You will be able to use what I teach you in your next class!

 FAITH BASED

God Makes No Junk: The faith-based version of my personal journey. I use my story to bring to life Jeremiah 29:11. Great for outreach events!
Seeking God Series: Four sessions perfect for week-long/weekend events. I work with your group’s theme, weaving it in with fundamental principles of being a follower of Christ. I help you lead your group into a deeper understanding of who God is, what His plan is for our lives and how we can live as doers of the Word.
Seeking God in the Age of Distraction: As someone who really struggles with focus and keeping still for any extended period of time, I have struggled with the idea of “quiet time” for years. Happily, I discovered that there are many ways to spend time with God that do not require quiet or staying still. I share all of my best tips and tools to help participants take steps towards a more effective time of prayer.
